Get a brick to make a gift that keeps giving.

St. Rose School is offering memorial bricks in the St. Rose School prayer garden north of the lower grade elementary school until October.

Memorial bricks, with names of loved ones or honoring an event, a particular class or anniversary and other events, make up a large brick cross at the center of the prayer garden.

The prayer garden, flanked by statues of Jesus, Mary and St. Francis, with a bench at the center, was dedicated as part of the centennial of St. Rose School in 2011. So far, about 150 bricks have been engraved as part of the prayer garden. Organizers say that there are around 400 bricks without any names engraved on them, that are now for sale.

Memorial bricks can be purchased for $150 donation. Forms are available at the entrance of St. Rose church, at the St. Rose School office, or after Sunday 8 a.m. Mass at St. Rose. Forms and donations can be mailed to St. Rose School, Box 176, Crofton, NE 68730. All donations go toward the St. Rose School STARS Fund.

New bricks will be engraved and installed this winter. A new round of bricks will be for sale next spring.
