The coronation at the end of the parade this year has been waited for the whole week starting with votes being cast earlier in the week.
This year’s king was chosen to be Carter Steffen, and the queen's crown was given to Lillian Early.
Crofton’s Homecoming was fairytale-themed this year with all the classes having their floats inspired by different fictional stories.
The junior high classes had good picks this year with 7th grade having The Lion King “and 8th grade with The Lorax”.
The high school classes had the more well-known fairy tale themes. The freshman chose Peter Pan, and their float looked like a pirate ship. The sophomores went with an older fairy tale theme choosing Hansel and Gretal. Their float featured an old oven and mini house.
Juniors had a good pick with “Tangled” as their theme. They put a picture of a scene from the movie and balloons draping across the top of the float. The seniors picked “Shrek” as their theme, painting their props green.
In the end the freshman, won the competition with their pirate ship float.
Hallways this year were decorated with colorful lights and props. The seventh graders won the hallways competition this year with their Lion King theme.
