The Warriors showed up in all aspects of the game against Kimball in the first round of the playoffs on Thursday, October 23, putting up nearly 600 all-purpose yards. Junior Tyson Jackson racked up 141 of those yards, putting him in second place for the school’s all-time record, just 527 yards behind Tim Pietz (2011).
The Warriors also broke another school record last week, defeating Kimball 90–20, marking the highest-scoring game in school history, according to coach Jonnie Ostermeyer.
A lot of new faces got to take the field during last week’s game. Sophomore Cash Culliton had the second-most rushing yards of the night behind Jackson, finishing with 91 yards and two touchdowns. Junior Bo Drotzmann added 62 yards and scored his first touchdown of the season.
On the defensive side, junior Kolton Vornhagen led with three tackles and eight assists. Junior Jaxson Folkers added two tackles, three assists, and a fumble recovery. Defensive Coach John Connot said, “They came in focused, knew their assignments, and executed the plan just the way we practiced."
