The Wakefield Lady Trojan wrestling team took a trip to Winnebago to compete in the Lady Indian Invite on Friday, Dec. 29.
At the end of a hard-fought day, the Lady Trojans took home 33rd place in the large tournament that included some of the best Nebraska and South Dakota had to offer.
The girls now have a nice break to replenish before making the short trip to Winside for the Lady Gator Invite on Saturday, Jan. 6.
Individual results for the Wakefield Lady Trojans from the Lady Indian Invite are as follows:
105: Michala Beaty lost to Haller of Norfolk; won by decision over Henry of Randolph; was defeated by decision by Maas of Wayne. Beaty’s place is unknown, she scored 1.0 team points.
115: Ericca Lopez Ramos was defeated by Bryant of Harrisburg via fall; lost to Rocha of South Sioux City by fall.
125: Maria Perez lost to McCrery of Bennington by fall; won by fall over Corbin of Fairbury; was defeated by Newill of Cedar Bluffs by fall. Perez’s place is unknown as she scored 3.0 team points.
130: Angie Miranda lost to Zimmerman of Conestoga by fall; was defeated by Perez of West Point-Beemer by fall.
135: Melony Manjarrez was defeated by Hansen of Stanton by fall; lost to Fay of Valentine by fall.
155: Jazmynn Scott lost to Zatechka of Omaha Westside by fall; was defeated by Peterson of Fremont by fall.
190: Natalee Nelson lost to Mangelson of Norfolk by fall; was defeated by Purvis of West Point-Beemer by fall.
235: Mileny Romero Hernandez lost to Sohm of South Sioux City by fall; lost to Littlewalker of Winnebago by fall.
