The Wakefield Trojan Wrestling team travelled to Hartington and Plainview this past week on Tuesday, Jan. 23 and Saturday, Jan. 27.
In their first contest, the Trojans travelled to Hartington for a triangular against the Trojans and the Winnebago Indians.
The Trojans demolished Winnebago, winning that dual 48.0 to 18.0, before losing in a tough match to the Cedar Catholic Trojans.
At the Plainview invite the Trojans landed in the middle of the teams competing, as the team scored 75.0 team points to place eighth out of 15 teams at the invite.
The boys’ team will continue their season on Tuesday, Jan. 30 at the Lewis and Clark Conference tournament, before hosting the Wakefield Trojan Invite on Saturday, Feb. 3. The Trojan Invite will be the last regular season invitational for Wakefield before their district meet on Saturday, Feb. 10 in Albion.
