Wakefield Boy Scout Troop 172 has decided to continue offering disbursement of paper and aluminum for Wakefield residents to drop-off.

“We have decided to continue making the trailer available to drop-off paper and aluminum cans,” Troop 172 Scoutmaster, Ed Haglund said. “The trailer will be available the third Saturday of each month.”

The local scout troop is not planning to pick up items door-to-door for the foreseeable future.

“If people are not able to deliver paper or cans to the trailer east of the city sheds,” said Haglund. “They can just give me a call at (402) 369-3628 and make arrangements.”

The hours to drop-off items at the trailer have been expanded to 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month.

“There will be a Scout family at the trailer to assist in unloading the recyclables,” Haglund said. “We felt it was better to offer the trailer every month instead of the Troop picking things up every other month.”

Haglund went on to thank the community for supporting the Scouts.

“We really appreciate the community support,” Haglund said. “Hopefully, we’ll be back to normal pickups soon-for now this is the best for everyone.”
