Jack speaking at the dedication with his project to the left

Jack Schlickbernd of Scout Troop 174 and a student at Wakefield Community Schools recently held the dedication for his Eagle Scout project in Graves Park on Wednesday, September 21st.  In front of a large crowd and with the help of Wakefields Legion Post and some of Jacks fellow Scouts he explained the significance of the project.
The project was to honor those soldiers missing or killed in action with a special seat at Eaton Field in the ball park.  The seat is on the third base line of the field emblazoned with the POW/MIA logo along with a plaque that reads: “You will never be forgotten.  This unoccupied chair honors the service members that are still prisoners of war (pow) or missing in action (mia) and symbolizes that there will always be a place in this ballpark awaiting their return.”
